Demos - Making Your Media Matter 2008

See who will be at our Demo Tables!

Active Voice

Active Voice is a non-profit media strategy team that works with many kinds of media - advocacy videos, documentaries, feature films, shorts - to put a human face on public policy. The Active Voice demo table will feature a powerpoint presentation of some of our past and upcoming campaigns, an exhibition of materials and resources from those campaigns, and information about our exciting new initiative, BEYOND THE CHOIR. Come discuss your project with us, and take our quiz to determine what kind of filmmaker you are!

POV

Produced by American Documentary, Inc. and celebrating its 21st season on PBS in 2008, the award-winning P.O.V. series is the longest-running showcase on television to feature the work of America's best contemporary-issue independent filmmakers. P.O.V. has brought more than 250 documentaries to millions nationwide, and has a Webby Award-winning online series, P.O.V.'s Borders. Since 1988, P.O.V. has pioneered the art of presentation and outreach using independent nonfiction media to build new communities in conversation about today's most pressing social issues. More information about P.O.V is available at www.pbs.org/pov.

Stop by and meet P.O.V. staff and view selections from the P.O.V. film library, companion multimedia content, streaming video, interactive community features, and downloadable materials. There will also be a featured look at P.O.V.'s online series "Borders | American I.D." which asks users to think about America in a local and global context, asking the questions, "How do Americans see themselves, and how are Americans viewed around the world?" P.O.V. films are available to community based organizations and schools across the country. Let us show you how you can make the most of P.O.V. materials in your work.
